OUCH! I woke up on the flight from Warsaw and my eyes were a bit dry. I wear contact lenses and they were really dry from the flight. I rubbed my eyes a bit when the guy sitting next to me stretched and hit my elbow. I poked my own eye! I did not know what had happened until we landed. I went to use the bathroom and I noticed that my left eye was bleeding...Just wonderful...burned arms...bleeding eye...a true superstar Chris! I was met at the airport by Theo from Rock, Inc. He runs my promotion in the Benelux...Holland/Belgium. He has been a friend for a long time. I was to finally be in the same place for 3 days!!!!I was excited to settle in a bit and rest.. We first went to get me some medicated eye drops!However I did have about 30 interviews...2 meet - n - greets and a radio show to do. We checked into a little hotel in a small but extremely cute Dutch town. I was so happy to be here. It was just what I needed. I was feeling so run down and beat up. I was hoping to be in Amsterdam, but I feel this would have been a very unhealthy thing for me now! I had a little time to rest at the hotel and then it was time to get to work. The Bospop Festival was nearby. We co-headlined this with Megadeth 3 years ago. This was the show I played right after I got out of the hospital from the food poisoning! I went to Theo’s heavy metal record shop (Rock Inc.) and we awaited the arrival of Doro. She was to do a bunch of press at the festival also. We were doing a signing session too! We headed over to the festival grounds...it was raining...not too uncommon for Holland and really kinda cold. Our interviews went on for most of the day. The signing session was really cool. Doro is so nice! Afterwards she had to leave and I had a few more interviews. They wound up at around 11PM with a chat with Metal Mike from Aardshock Magazine. He is a long time friend and a very honest journalist. The interview went well and we all headed over to see Deep Purple. I love watching them with Steve Morse...great band! French Fries and Mayo...Beer...music...yup...it was Holland! We left the festival pretty late. I am not too sure what time I went to sleep. I do know I had to wake up at around 11AM to start my day 2 interviews. They were to take place at the bar next to the hotel. I was off to try to sleep!!!!
I woke up feeling a bit sick and very run down...but I had more work to do. The interviews went until about 4PM. Journalists from Holland and Belgium...all very nice and all very excited about the CD/s!!!! The town was really cute...I went off to take photos...it looked like rain and I did not want to miss the good light. I just made some of the best shots in time. We went to lunch as it began to downpour. I returned for a nap and was to go to a friend's house with Theo for a home cooked meal. Ed and Rocco’s Metal Bar in Gelleen was having a party for me that night...I needed to rest up! After a short nap I headed to our friend's house...the meal was great, but I was still tired...after another nap we headed to the club. This was in the town that I rehearsed in with American Rock Live. I remembered it right away. There were a lot of fans there. We listened to all kinda of Heavy Metal and played a lot of my new stuff...A good time was had by all. I returned to my hotel at about 3AM. The next day I was to check out...and head to Theo’s house. I was so upset that day because I learned that a lot of my Mom’s animals were killed by predators from the woods. I felt very helpless!
Theo’s was a great place to go...but I was upset when I saw the chickens! The predators will DIE!!! I did about another 4 hours of interviews, I then headed to do a live radio show...well...it was taped....but it was a lot of fun! It aired the following Friday night. I returned back to Theo’s and rested a bit before we went out for a final dinner in Holland. Actually we crossed the border and went to Germany. It was a great meal and a great weekend in Holland! I fell asleep and awaited my next adventure!
