As we stood for a final standing ovation, my daughter beaming at Daryl, her favorite each year, he walked over, and showered her with guitar picks. She was enchanted, as have we been with his performance, year after year. Oh, how he will be missed, today, tomorrow, as we attend the show this December, and forever. When my wife and I first saw a TSO Christmas show a few years back at the Detroit Opera House, we had no clue what to expect. Naturally, the show was phenomenal, but there was the addition of someone that we didn't know from the Christmas Eve album. This guy came out and completely lit up the stage with his incredible presence and then filled the theater with a larger than life voice. Daryl immediately became one of our favorite parts of the band and we always hoped that we'd be seeing him in the next show. Needless to say, we were deeply saddened when we heard the news of his passing, and we feel that a huge piece of our annual holiday outing will be missing. I know the show will still be great, but in our minds there will forever more be a gigantic hole in the band's otherwise terrific performance. Even our seven-year-old daughter (who attends the concerts with us) is sad that she won't hear Diamond Daryl singing live again. -John Lulich, East Lansing, MI Listening to Daryl on stage belt out his rhythm and blues style singing was more than just talent. It was a love, a love that will continue to grow within each and everyone of us that had the honor to hear his dynamic voice. Seeing and hearing him perform was truly a moving experience, one that only heaven and the angels are privileged to now. Rest in peace, we will always remember you. I am a TSO follower of 4 years now and was just at the Manchester NH show last night. Chris gave us the news and you could hear the crowd come to a halt. A fan of many types of music, I admit I was never a big fan of Jazz...until...... After seeing TSO with Daryl, I was left speechless everytime he finished a song. I looked forward to seeing him every year. Heaven has a new lead singer, and he's kicking ass! We Miss You Daryl I’ve never heard—nor ever again will hear—such an amazing voice, or feel such an amazing presence. His voice reached to the very depths of the soul, touched every part of the heart, and brought tears to the eyes. It is one of the most powerful forces on earth. The voice, the person, the presence…they will be so missed. Rest in peace… your angel voice will sing on forever. T I remember my first TSO concert. It was amazing, everyone was great, but Daryl stood out in my mind...he was lively, and energetic, it was like seeing Chris' clone! I'm from Cleveland, and I know that Cleveland is one of the bands favorite places to visit, and Daryl was always so excited to be here, you could just tell in his voice, and his remarks, he was a great performer. This year's TSO concert will not be the same without him. He will be missed. Mandy Stefaniak At the Tweeter Center show last year you blew the place away, we have our tickets for the Spectrum this year and we both will miss you. God bless. Paul & Tori Riegert Goodbye and God Bless you, Daryl ~ the one and the only Music Box man. From a Fan Here's a pic of Daryl from Cleveland, I believe 2001. -Jen ![]() Dear Chris, We went to the 3pm show in Providence yesterday, and we were shocked to hear of the passing of Daryl Pediford. We only knew him as fans (we have gone to the TSO show every year since 2000 except last year (snowed out in Scranton, PA!), but it felt like we lost a family member last night. Seeing TSO around the holidays has become as much a tradition for us as eating turkey or opening presents, and Daryl was a huge part of that tradition. He and your antics were always some of the most memorable parts of the show and the parts we told our friends about. He was sorely missed last night. We brought two new people to the show last night, and we were dissapointed they didn't get to see Daryl; you and he really added a lot to the show. I am happy that he appears on the DVD, so they got to see him and what we were talking about. The person taking Daryl's songs did a fantastic job, but missing was Daryl's incredible voice and the very enjoyable commradary he seemed to share with you and the rest of the band. My regret is that we never hung around to meet you guys after a show. Thanks for the memories Daryl!!! Happy Holidays, Curtis Cooper We're going to miss Daryl...he had a wonderful talent that we looked forward to experiencing every year. ~bok2rok ![]() |
